There are periods of our career, you’ll feel as Running Away and all on several occasions, and I am here to say that you do!

I reinvented my career, including five times a disc jockey on radio, director of public relations in professional sports, Community Relations director for television, regional director of marketing in the fields of finance, and now I am a technical project manager in global high-tech sectors.

1 What is your passion? The first step is to determine where you want. In the area would you like to work? Advertising? Finance? Health Care? If I wanted to stop, a disc jockey, I knew I wanted to television. And after a distinguished career in television, I have my sights the first company in America. I was not sure what kind of jobs I wanted the role (or have!) But the first step was the destination of the industry, where I wanted to work.

If you do not know where you want to go (except that where you are now definitely in the wrong place!), Then read the magazines, publications, classified ads and industry in your local newspaper. Go to a bookstore and browse yourself in books and magazines to see which compresses your attention. The key is knowing what your lights and inspires you-fire.

2 What are your transferable skills? These are skills, the transition from industry to industry, employment or role to play the role of jobs. Examples include: project management, teams, customers or budgets and negotiating contracts or to propose and implement that generate ideas, money, money, or help businesses to be more competitive.

Other skills transferable personal characteristics such as the demonstration of leadership or take risks, training or mentoring team members, led the goal-oriented results, a solver of problems, or with the possibility of influence on the conduct of forces. It is having large capacity and the transfer of industry to industry. All types of industries and enterprises with collaborators value of such skills and properties.

5 The attitude is the key ingredient! I have noticed that there really a new job amounts to two things: confidence and passion. I have never gone in an interview meets all the requirements of jobs. Indeed, for television interview, I missed the two biggest requirements, at least two years experience in television, and a band of my TV show.

To compensate, I have my transferable skills which have been very creative and a solid songwriter. That is what my foot in the door for the interview. I also said that the attitude of leaders that I knew absolutely that I could do the job!

There is a kind of calm confidence that we were all deeply inside. A confidence that comes from knowing what we are capable of.
